Language overview

Miscamish (Miscam) is a constructed language, or conlang, designed by Joaquín Baldwin for his fantasy saga Noss saga. It has six sacred consonants, an SVO word order, six word classes expressing a level of animacy (from animate to inanimate), as well as different levels of formality (from humbleness to royalty).

Miscamish numbering rules

Now that you’ve had a gist of the most useful numbers, let’s move to the writing rules for the tens, the compound numbers, and why not the hundreds, the thousands and beyond (if possible).

• Digits from zero to nine are rendered by specific words, namely bast [0], velm [1], tarv [2], chail [3], jels [4], khann [5], hum [6], prinesh [7], uirin [8], and largo [9].
• Tens are formed starting with the multiplier digit, directly followed by the word for ten (ferr), with no space, except for ten itself: ferr [10], tarvferr [20], chailferr [30], jelsferr [40], khannferr [50], humferr [60], prineshferr [70], uirinferr [80], and largoferr [90].
• Teens are formed starting with the word for ten (ferr), directly followed by the unit word with no space, except for multiples of six: ferrvelm [11], hum-o-tarv [12] (6*2), ferrchail [13], ferrjels [14], ferrkhann [15], ferrhum [16], ferrprinesh [17], hum-o-chail [18] (6*3), and ferrlargo [19].
• Compound numbers above twenty are formed starting with the ten, then the unit linked with the conjunction enn (and), except for a few multiples of six (e.g.: chailferr enn khann [35], hum-o-hum [36] (6*6), mahuhum [66] (very six), humferr enn prinesh [67]).
• Hundreds are formed starting with the multiplier digit, followed by the word for hundred (ferrfast), separated with a space, except for one hundred: ferrfast [100], tarv ferrfast [200], chail ferrfast [300], jels ferrfast [400], khann ferrfast [500], hum ferrfast [600], prinesh ferrfast [700], uirin ferrfast [800], and largo ferrfast [900].
• Thousands are formed starting with the multiplier digit, followed by the word for thousand (raahu), separated with a space, except for one thousand: raahu [1,000], tarv raahu [2,000], chail raahu [3,000], jels raahu [4,000], khann raahu [5,000], hum raahu [6,000], prinesh raahu [7,000], uirin raahu [8,000], and largo raahu [9,000].
• Higher scale numbers are: andrell [million, 10⁶], andrush [billion, 10⁹], and andramo [trillion, 10¹²].
